Leah Kauffman, who co-wrote and sang the 2007 hit, “I’ve got a crush on Obama,” released Bernie Bae today, a song destined to go viral.
At just the right time.
“It's likely you're already familiar with the work of Leah Kauffman, Refinery 29 reported. The 29-year-old singer-songwriter was behind the 2007 viral video "Crush...On" (co-writing and singing the catchy tune) as well as previous gems like "My Box In A Box" and of course, "Still Got A Crush On Obama"
Kauffman is a Bernie fan, inspired by the Senator’s mission, and his supporters’ fervor.
"I was feeling so hopeless/ And so cynical/ Now you've got me focused/ Bernie you're a miracle." She speaks for the millions who have been inspired by the candidate who speaks to people’s aspirations and desires.
Time Magazine has caught the wave, albeit second-hand, reporting: “The grassroots inertia that’s pushing Senator Sanders’ campaign forward is awe-inspiring,” creator Leah Kauffman told Refinery29. “It shows that millennials do care about this election and that we are politically alive.”
Why Bernie?
Kauffman told Refinery 29: “Bernie Sanders believes that every American deserves the opportunity to go to college. He has also unflinchingly supported gay rights, civil rights, workers rights, and women's rights. Now there’s a platform I can stand behind!"
Couldn’t have said it nearly as well, myself. Fantastic, Leah!
